In Germany, the law requires health insurance to cover the cost of sign language interpreters for deaf patients. But, do deaf patients in Germany know they can request sign interpreters in health care? Furthermore, if so, what is their experience with this? In response, a study in Germany researched this question.

The results of the study are published in the January 2012 issue of the Das Gesundheitswesen journal. Meanwhile, the authors are J. T. Höcker, S. Letzel, and E. Münster.
