Action on Disability and Development (ADD)

Action on Disability and Development International (ADD International) partners with disability rights advocacy organizations. Its partner organizations are in Africa and Asia. First, the partner organizations decide what they want to change in society. They also decide what they need to make the change happen. Then ADD International provides them with tools, resources, skills training, and other support. Thus, the partners are able to build stronger disability rights movements. ADD International also supports them in advocacy efforts. In particular, they support advocacy with policy makers and international development workers. They influence them to be more disability-inclusive in their work.

Action on Disability and Development International is based in the UK. Some of ADD’s partners in Africa and work with people who are deaf. The ADD website is accessible to people using screen reading software. But it has some barriers. For example, some images use alternative tags to describe them for people who cannot see. But other images do not. Similarly, some forms have labels, while others do not.
